The JAMMA standard allows for 2 joysticks. and 3 action buttons. There are spare pins on the JAMMA harness which are sometimes used for buttons 4 and 5. but it’s outside of the JAMMA spec. The solution for the Capcom CPS-I system was to add an external harness that plugs into the game board itself. bypassing the JAMMA connector. The CPS-II system used an expanded connector with compatibility for 4P games a modified pinout.
This particular harness adds support for players 1 and 2 buttons 4. 5. and 6. Compatible with Sega Astro City. New Astro City. and possible Astro City 2 cabinets.
Used with MiSTercade. CPS-II games. and other assorted arcade games.
